Our Respite Care service is one way we help fight the burnout of caregiving.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is Respite Care?\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Respite Care is different from traditional Assisted Living Care as it provides temporary care instead of long-term care. Mercy Crests&#8217; Respite Care gives the primary caregiver an opportunity to take a break, go on a vacation, or attend a family event. They can be at peace without worrying about their loved one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What does daily care look like?\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our staff at Mercy Crest administers medications and helps your loved one with daily physical and emotional needs. During their stay, clients in respite care get three full meals a day, prepared in our kitchen with some food grown in our own gardens. In addition, they can also enjoy socializing and activities with others. It&#8217;s no secret, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nia.nih.gov\/news\/social-isolation-loneliness-older-people-pose-health-risks\">one of the biggest battles in aging is loneliness<\/a>. Those who visit Mercy Crest for respite care may suffer from Dementia, Alzheimer&#8217;s, or other physical and mental disabilities. Likewise, the physical or cognitive limitations of the individual do not prevent us from helping them stay comfortable and happy while they are visiting us.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Rising Need for Support<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Did you know that National studies reveal that 1 in 4 of all American families provide care to someone 50 years or older? These numbers will increase over the next 5-10 years; this will place more pressure on relatives to care for their aging family member. Another assessment by the National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs showed that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">about 9.4 million children have special health care needs. The families of these children still need to work, manage their households, and met the demands of life. They do all this while juggling their child&#8217;s healthcare needs.
